German node-based data-science platform where the entire workflow is a graph — free and open source since 2006.

KNIME (Konstanz Information Miner) started in 2004 at the University of Konstanz under Michael Berthold and was open-sourced in 2006. The KNIME Analytics Platform builds analysis as a graph of nodes: read, transform, train, evaluate — all wired together visually and mixable with Python and R. Unlike most rivals, the core is free (GPLv3); the company KNIME AG charges for the server side, KNIME Hub. It is popular in academia and pharma, where reproducibility matters more than chasing the latest fashion.
