Open-source ML platform known for AutoML — and for a co-founder who wrote the JVM's JIT compiler.

Founded in 2012 in California (first as 0xdata) by SriSatish Ambati and Cliff Click — the latter the man behind HotSpot, the just-in-time compiler in Java's virtual machine. The core H2O product is an open-source library (Apache 2.0) for machine learning that runs distributed and in-memory, and H2O AutoML was early to automate model selection and hyperparameter tuning. Later came Driverless AI and, when the tide turned, generative tools like h2oGPT. It is popular with banks and insurers who want models they can explain to a regulator.
