Samsung's hardware-rooted security platform on Galaxy devices since 2013 — with an e-fuse you can't reset.

Samsung Knox is a security layer on Samsung's Android devices, introduced in 2013. It builds on ARM TrustZone and secure boot, and offers an encrypted container that separates work from personal — the pitch Samsung took to enterprises and governments.

Most notorious is the "Knox bit": an e-fuse in the hardware that blows permanently if the device boots unofficial firmware. Once tripped, it can't be reset, and Knox features such as payment services stop working — a deterrent against rooting that has made enthusiasts distinctly unfond of it. Tizen devices carry an equivalent.
