Capcom's in-house engine, which took over from MT Framework and now carries more or less the publisher's entire catalogue.

RE stands for "Reach for the Moon", not Resident Evil — even though its debut was, in fact, Resident Evil 7 (2017). It replaced MT Framework and was built for faster iteration: changes show up in the running game without a restart, which Capcom's developers have called the whole point.

RE7 leaned hard on photogrammetry and physically based rendering, and the same pipeline went on to power the Resident Evil 2 remake, Devil May Cry 5, Monster Hunter Rise and Street Fighter 6. It isn't licensed out, which is also why Capcom pays no royalties to Unreal.
