Konami's engine for Metal Gear Solid V: lavish, impressive, and effectively abandoned once its makers walked out.

Kojima Productions unveiled it in 2011 and used it for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (2014) and The Phantom Pain (2015). It was early to physically based rendering and photogrammetry — one demo mixed photographs and rendered frames and dared the audience to tell them apart.

The PES football series ran on Fox Engine for several years too. After Hideo Kojima left Konami in 2015 the engine never got another flagship, and when the series became eFootball in 2021 it moved to Unreal Engine. Kojima himself moved on to Decima.
