A stripped-down C library for games, built to teach — no editor, no dependencies, just a flat API.

Ramon Santamaria (raysan5) released raylib in 2013 with teaching as a stated goal. No external dependencies, no editor, no config files — just a straight C API that hands you a window, input, shapes and textures and then gets out of the way.

zlib-licensed, with bindings for some fifty languages. Deliberately spartan: a reaction against frameworks that want to own your whole project. Compare LÖVE for Lua or Bevy for Rust.
