Measures what users actually do inside an app and layers guidance prompts on top of the interface — without the developers having to touch the code.

Founded in 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Among the founders was Erik Troan, one of the authors of the RPM package format from Red Hat's early days — an unusual pedigree for a SaaS product aimed at product managers. A small script embedded in the app tracks clicks and page views while also rendering tooltips, tours and surveys that the product team can change without a new deployment.

The pitch is to merge two tools that normally live apart: the analytics that show where users get stuck, and the onboarding meant to get them past it. It competes with pure analytics tools such as Amplitude and Mixpanel.
