The part of Hewlett-Packard that still does what HP started out doing: measuring things.

HP's first product in 1939 was an audio oscillator, and test equipment was the core of the business long before printers and PCs took over. In 1999 the instruments side was spun off as Agilent Technologies, and in 2014 Agilent in turn split off electronic measurement as Keysight, headquartered in Santa Rosa, California. Agilent kept life sciences.

Keysight makes oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analysers and 5G test systems, and bought network-testing firm Ixia in 2017. The upshot is that HP's legacy is now spread across three companies – HP Inc, HPE and this one – and the last is the closest to what the garage originally sold.
