Veteran host from 1996 that happened to birth Ceph along the way.
New Dream Network was started in 1996 by four Harvey Mudd College undergraduates — Dallas Bethune, Josh Jones, Michael Rodriguez, and Sage Weil — and took its first customers the following year. It is one of the three hosts WordPress.org recommends and is known for defending privacy; in 2017 the company publicly fought a U.S. Department of Justice demand to hand over visitor data from a protest website. The longest-lived legacy may be Sage Weil, who built the distributed storage system Ceph while working there.
