Founded in 2010 in Utah by Josh James, who had earlier built and sold the web-analytics firm Omniture to Adobe. Domo is pure cloud BI: connect data sources, build dashboards and share them in a mobile app aimed at leadership teams. Its "business intelligence for the whole company" positioning met persistent doubts about price versus value, a recurring complaint about the category. It listed on the Nasdaq in 2018 — a case of a founder with one successful exit raising capital for the next venture on reputation as much as product.
