Visa's subsidiary for settling card disputes before they become chargebacks, often without a human in the loop.

Verifi is based in Los Angeles and was acquired by Visa in 2019. Its most radical product is Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR). The merchant registers rules with Visa in advance — "automatically refund any disputed purchase under $25", say, or "anything involving this product". When a cardholder disputes a charge, the rules run at the issuer on the spot, and if one matches, the money is refunded instead of a chargeback being opened. The merchant loses the amount but avoids the fee and stays out of the statistics.

The other half is Order Insight. It lets the issuer's call-centre agent pull the merchant's order data — what was bought, the delivery address, a tracking number — while the cardholder is still on the line. That is often enough for "oh, right, that one". It is the same problem rival Ethoca attacks: disputes are expensive for everyone, and most stem from confusion rather than fraud.
