An open-source profiler for real-time software that shows what every thread did in every frame, down to the nanosecond.

Most profilers answer "where does the time go on average?". Games have a different problem: 59 frames out of 60 hit the budget and the sixtieth stutters. Tracy is driven by macros such as ZoneScoped and FrameMark placed in the code, streams events over the network to a separate viewer, and draws a per-thread timeline where you can zoom straight into the one bad frame.

On top of instrumentation it samples call stacks, times GPU work through Vulkan, Direct3D and OpenGL, and tracks memory allocations and lock contention. It has become a common pick for in-house engines and indie games, where the commercial alternatives either cost money or only exist for one platform.
