A free graphics debugger that captures a single frame and lets you take it apart call by call.

When a model turns black or vanishes there is no stack trace to read – just a missing pixel. RenderDoc records every API call in one frame under Vulkan, Direct3D 11/12 or OpenGL, then shows each draw call with its buffers, textures, pipeline state and intermediate render targets. You can step through a shader for one specific pixel and watch exactly where it went wrong.

Baldur Karlsson started it as a personal project and open-sourced it in 2014 under the MIT licence. It became the de facto standard precisely because it was not tied to any GPU vendor, and it is usually the first thing a graphics programmer installs on a new machine.
