A minimalist software forge with not a line of JavaScript, built around email: git send-email, patch lists and CI instead of pull requests.

Drew DeVault launched the platform in 2018 (sr.ht) as a deliberate counterpoint to GitHub's heavy web interface. Everything works without JavaScript, every component is free software you can host yourself, and the workflow borrows from the Linux kernel's: patches are sent and reviewed over mailing lists rather than through buttons in a browser.

The service charges money even during the beta — on purpose, to avoid funding itself through ads or venture capital. Niche by design: it is aimed at those who think the rest of the industry has made version control needlessly clicky.
