Qorvo's twin rival in radio front-ends, and one of the suppliers most dependent on Apple.
Skyworks Solutions was formed in 2002 by merging Alpha Industries with Conexant's wireless division. It makes the same sort of radio front-end as Qorvo — amplifiers, filters and switches for phones. An unusually large share of its revenue comes from a single customer, Apple, which makes the stock sensitive to every iPhone cycle.
In 2021 Skyworks bought the infrastructure and automotive unit from Silicon Labs for $2.75 billion, broadening itself beyond handsets.
