Palantir's original platform, built for intelligence and defense agencies to tie scattered data sources together.
Gotham was the first product from Palantir Technologies (founded in 2003 by Peter Thiel and Alex Karp, among others) and was bankrolled early on by In-Q-Tel, the CIA's venture arm. The platform lets analysts pull people, places, transactions and documents from wildly different sources into a single graph and hunt for patterns — a tool for intelligence services, the military and the police.
Gotham has earned Palantir both contracts and criticism: privacy advocates point to the risk when so much data on individuals is gathered in one place. Its civilian, enterprise-facing sibling is Foundry.
