Palantir's layer for turning language models loose on a company's own data, using the existing ontology as the gate on what the model may see and do.
Launched in April 2023, mid-way through the first LLM frenzy, as a way to make chatbots useful on operational data without hallucinating. The point is the ontology Foundry already builds: the model works against defined objects and actions, not free text, so every answer traces to a source and every action requires permission.
It is marketed hard at defence and heavy industry — the same customers as Gotham and Foundry — with the promise that the AI may suggest but a human approves. Critics see the same lock-in that has always marked Palantir: powerful, expensive and hard to leave.
