Brightly coloured "Work OS" out of Tel Aviv — every workflow is built from the same bricks: boards, columns and automations, as happily a CRM as a product roadmap.

Roy Mann and Eran Zinman founded the company in 2012 under the name dapulse, only renaming it monday.com in 2017. The core idea is a generic "board" — rows with cheerfully coloured status fields — that the customer shapes into whatever they need: task list, sales pipeline, hiring funnel. It is deliberately less structured than a specialised tool, leaning instead on templates and no-code automations.

The Israeli firm is notorious for outspending every rival on marketing — its YouTube ads were inescapable around 2019 — but the business held up: the 2021 Nasdaq IPO valued it in the billions. It competes with Smartsheet, ClickUp and Asana for the same desktop real estate.
