China's largest server builder, a state-adjacent colossus that ships racks by the lorry-load — and landed on the US blacklist.

Inspur (浪潮), out of Jinan in Shandong, is one of the world's largest makers of x86 servers measured by units shipped, at times ranking third globally behind Dell and HPE. The group is tightly interwoven with the Chinese state and supplies much of the server capacity for the country's big cloud providers. AI servers built around Nvidia GPUs grew into a sizeable business.

In 2023 the US Commerce Department placed Inspur on its Entity List, cutting off access to American technology. The group is split across several listed entities, with Inspur Information carrying the server business itself.
