iCE (ANSI group)
The ANSI art group that was ACiD's main rival during the BBS era's heyday, with monthly artpacks of its own.
iCE, originally Insane Creators Enterprise and later iCE Advertisements, was formed in the US in the early 1990s. The setup mirrored ACiD: artists drew login screens, menus and logos for sysops, and the work was bundled into artpacks that travelled from board to board.
The rivalry pushed both groups forward. Members defected, the packs got bigger, the technique sharper, and the rest of the ANSI scene measured itself against the pair. The group's archive is preserved today on 16colo.rs, right next to its competitor's.
