CD Projekt's store, which sells games entirely without copy protection and rescues old titles from vanishing.

Launched in 2008 as "Good Old Games" on a simple premise: sell classics DRM-free and make them run on modern systems. The catalogue broadened to new releases, but the principle holds — purchases download as plain installer files with no client required. The optional GOG Galaxy client collects libraries from several stores. GOG is owned by Poland's CD Projekt and, since 2022, runs a dedicated preservation program for games that would otherwise become unplayable. A principled niche against Steam's dominance.
