Graphics card maker

The graphics card brand that built its whole reputation on Nvidia, then walked away from Nvidia on its own.

Andrew Han founded the company in California in 1999, and for over two decades it sold graphics cards with Nvidia chips only, never AMD's. Every partner got the same silicon, so EVGA competed on service: long warranties, a Step-Up program that let buyers trade up for the price difference, and KINGPIN cards built for liquid-nitrogen overclocking.

In September 2022, just ahead of the RTX 4000 launch, EVGA announced it was leaving the graphics card business entirely. Han described a partner that dictated prices, withheld information and competed with its own customers through Founders Edition cards. Giving up most of your revenue rather than carry on tells you something about the margins in that supply chain. Power supplies and peripherals remain.
