Booze Design
C64 demo group that proved a twenty-five-year-old breadbin still had unused raster lines left in it.
The group is one of the names that defined the C64 scene after the millennium, long after commercial game developers had moved on and only enthusiasts remained on the platform. Its best-known work, Edge of Disgrace, won the demo competition at X 2008 and still sits near the top of the CSDb charts.
The house style is the trackmo: long demos that stream new parts off the floppy while the music keeps playing, with the emphasis on direction and pacing rather than one record-breaking effect. Member HCL also wrote the cruncher ByteBoozer, whose name needs no further explanation.
