Ben Daglish
British composer whose C64 music for The Last Ninja and Gauntlet, among others, is some of the most-played on the SID chip.
Ben Daglish (1966–2018) scored dozens of games in the 1980s, mostly for the Commodore 64. With programmer Tony Crowther he ran the duo W.E. Music for a while, supplying publishers with soundtracks at a steady clip. His best-known work is The Last Ninja, shared with Anthony Lees, along with Gauntlet and Deflektor.
Daglish had a folk streak — he played the flute himself — and it shows in tunes that are more ballad than march. He kept performing arrangements of his old SID music and was a regular at retro concerts until his death.
