SUSE's system for fully unattended installation — an XML profile describes the whole machine, SUSE's answer to Kickstart.

AutoYaST is SUSE's answer to the question of how you install a hundred servers without sitting through a hundred setup wizards. An XML profile describes everything YaST would otherwise ask interactively — partitioning, package selection, users, network, services — and the installation runs through without a single keypress.

Functionally it is the SUSE world's Kickstart: the same idea of reproducible, unattended rollout, but expressed in XML and tightly bound to the YaST modules. A profile can be generated from an already-installed reference machine, making it easy to clone a known-good configuration. Newer SUSE releases are starting to hand the role to the new Agama installer, but AutoYaST has rolled out SUSE fleets for decades and will likely linger for a good while yet.
