The Nordics' largest seller of IT infrastructure — the name on the invoice when a municipality buys laptops, licences or a server room.
Atea is headquartered in Oslo and operates in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and the Baltics. It grew out of Norway's Ementor, which bought the Swedish company Atea and adopted its name in 2006. The model is to buy hardware and software from vendors such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo and Microsoft and resell it bundled with installation, operations and support.
The big customer is the public sector. Whoever wins the framework tender for computers at a Swedish region or government agency is remarkably often called Atea, which makes the company a kind of invisible infrastructure in its own right: barely known to the public, yet the supplier behind a large share of the machines in schools and hospitals.
