FreeBSD-baserad open source firewall + router. Web-UI för config. Förskning från m0n0wall (2004). Idag drivet av Netgate. Standard "smarter than your ISP router" home/SMB-firewall.
Features: stateful firewall (pf), NAT, VPN (IPsec + OpenVPN + WireGuard), traffic-shaping, captive portal, multi-WAN failover/load-balance, VLAN, IPv6. Hardware: install på x86 (mini-PC från Protectli, Netgate-appliances). Modern competitor: OPNsense (fork från 2014, mer aktiv-utvecklad community-versionen). Netgate Plus är paid version with feature-extras. Konsument-alternativ: OpenWrt (Linux-based, on consumer routers), Unifi UDM Pro (commercial appliance), MikroTik RouterOS. Förfest mot ISP-provided-router för control + features.
