Commercial BBS software from California, aimed at businesses as much as at hobbyist sysops.
Mustang Software of Bakersfield, led by Jim Harrer, shipped Wildcat! in 1986. In a scene built largely on shareware and leaked source code, Wildcat! was a boxed product with support, manuals and a clear focus on easy installation. That made it popular with companies wanting a dial-up support line, and together with PCBoard it owned the commercial end of the US market.
As the internet took over, Mustang tried to keep up with web interfaces and internet support. Santronics bought the product in the late 1990s and kept it alive long after most competitors had shut down.
