Floppies and recordable discs from a company older than most of the formats it sold.
Founded in 1969 in California by Reid Anderson, originally as Information Terminals Corporation. Verbatim became a household name for floppy disks through the 1980s — the DataLife line — then carried that franchise into recordable CDs and DVDs as optical media took over.
The company was bought by Mitsubishi Kagaku Media and long ran research on the organic dyes inside burnable discs, a key factor in how long a burned disc actually survives. In 2019 the brand passed to Taiwan's CMC Magnetics. The name lives on across USB drives and external disks, long after the floppy itself died out.
