A Taiwanese memory maker whose JetFlash sticks and memory modules became everyday purchases.
Founded in 1988 in Taipei. Transcend started with memory modules and grew into a broad catalogue of USB drives (JetFlash), memory cards, SSDs and industrial storage — usually in the affordable middle tier rather than at the performance peak.
The company belongs to the generation of Taiwanese component makers that grew large by supplying reliable storage to the OEM market and consumers at the same time. In embedded systems and industrial storage in particular — where the same model has to stay buyable for ten years — Transcend holds a steady niche.
