A standalone system tray for X11, for people running a window manager with no panel but still stuck with programs that insist on a tray icon.

The name is a squashed STAnd-aLONE sysTRAY. It does exactly one thing: it takes ownership of the _NET_SYSTEM_TRAY_S0 selection as the freedesktop spec describes and embeds applications' icon windows via XEmbed. The result is a small window you can put anywhere and manage with your window manager's usual rules.

The need arose with minimalist window managers like dwm and evilwm. Users had dropped their panels, but chat clients and network managers still hid half their features behind an icon in the system tray, and with nothing to receive it, those features simply weren't there.
