Open-source WebSocket server that speaks Pusher's protocol, so it can replace Pusher Channels without touching the client code.
Released in 2021 and built on uWebSockets.js — a C library ported to Node.js — which gives it noticeably higher throughput than pure-JavaScript servers. Because it implements Pusher's wire protocol, existing Pusher clients connect as-is; you only repoint the address.
It quickly became popular in the Laravel world as a free, self-hosted alternative to the paid service — a role Laravel later built in itself with Reverb. Licensed under AGPL-3.0.
