An open-source observability platform built on OpenTelemetry and ClickHouse — a self-hostable alternative to Datadog in a single app.
Founded in 2021 by Pranay Prateek and Ankit Nayan, backed by Y Combinator. SigNoz brings traces, metrics and logs into one tool, ingests data via the OpenTelemetry standard, and stores everything in the columnar database ClickHouse for fast queries over large volumes.
The point is to avoid both three separate tools and a metered bill that climbs with traffic: the code is open and runs on your own hardware. That places SigNoz among the open challengers — alongside the Grafana stack — to the big SaaS platforms in APM.
