Founded by the Call of Duty creators after a bitter split with Activision — and home to Apex Legends.
Vince Zampella and Jason West ran Infinity Ward and Call of Duty until Activision fired them in 2010 amid a scorched-earth lawsuit over royalties, whereupon they started Respawn. Titanfall (2014) introduced fast mech combat; the unannounced spin-off Apex Legends (2019) became one of the biggest battle-royale hits. The studio also makes the Star Wars Jedi series. Electronic Arts bought the company in 2017. Based in Los Angeles.
