Ramp
Corporate card and expense platform that, unusually, stakes its brand on getting customers to spend less.
Founded in 2019 in New York by Eric Glyman and Karim Atiyeh. Where most card companies earn more the more the customer spends, Ramp built its reputation on the opposite: automated expense management, vendor hunting and alerts meant to push costs down. The revenue still comes from interchange, but the message is savings.
It grew unusually fast — a valuation around $13 billion in 2024, only five years in. Together with Brex it is the leading challenger to traditional corporate cards, and the two are rarely mentioned apart.
