Code that takes text and builds a structured representation — typically an AST.
JSON parser, HTML parser, SQL parser, compiler parser. Classic algorithmics: recursive descent, LR, PEG. Libraries: nearley, ANTLR, tree-sitter. "Don't parse with regex" — use a proper parser for structured data.
