Moleman 2
A 2012 Hungarian documentary about the demoscene, made from the inside and free to watch online.
The full title is Moleman 2 – Demoscene – The Art of the Algorithms, directed by Szilárd Matusik. It interviews coders, graphicians and musicians from the Hungarian and international scenes and traces the culture from home-computer cracktros to today's parties and 4k intros. It also takes the time to explain why anyone would spend months on something shown once on a big screen and then downloaded a few thousand times.
Along with BBS: The Documentary and the book Freax, it is one of the few attempts to tell the story to an audience outside the scene. The tone is affectionate rather than critical, which is understandable given who made it.
