An open-source tool that lets non-technical staff ask questions of a database and build dashboards without writing SQL.
Started in 2015 inside the startup studio Expa and led by Sameer Al-Sakran. The premise is that most questions put to a database are simple but get stuck in the analyst's queue; instead, give business users a graphical interface — click together filters, group, visualise — that generates SQL behind the scenes against Postgres, MySQL, Snowflake and fifty-odd other sources.
Written in Clojure and licensed under the AGPL, with a paid cloud and enterprise edition on top. It competes with heavier BI suites like Looker and Tableau but wins on being free to get started with.
