Mateusz Jurczyk
Polish security researcher, better known as j00ru, who has found hundreds of Windows kernel bugs by having an emulator watch how the kernel reads memory.
In 2013 Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind presented Bochspwn, which ran Windows inside the Bochs x86 emulator and hunted for "double fetches": places where the kernel reads the same user memory twice and can therefore be fooled by a thread that swaps the value in between. Its 2017 sequel, Bochspwn Reloaded, went after uninitialised kernel memory leaking out to user programs instead.
He works at Google Project Zero, has fuzzed Windows font rendering and FFmpeg, and maintains the tables of Windows system call numbers by version — a reference exploit developers consult more often than they admit. He is a co-founder of the Dragon Sector CTF team.
