The music tracker that turns an ordinary Game Boy into an instrument — the core of the modern chipmusic scene.

Little Sound Dj, usually shortened to LSDj, was written by the Swede Johan Kotlinski and released in 2000 as a ROM you run on real Game Boy hardware via a flash cartridge. Music is written in a tracker interface tailored to the console's four channels — two pulse waves, a wavetable and noise — and so plays on the original chip, not in an emulator.

Together with Nanoloop, LSDj turned the Game Boy into a stage instrument that could be carried around and played live, and it became the emblem of the whole "chipmusic" movement of the 2000s. Its kinship with FamiTracker and DefleMask is obvious: same idea, a different chip.
