Records your screen and webcam at once and hands back a shareable link — meant to replace the meeting that could just as easily have been a video.

Founded in 2015 by Joe Thomas, Shahed Khan and Vinay Hiremath, after their previous product flopped and they needed a quick way to record demos for customers. The recording feature turned out to be worth more than the product, so they pivoted. A browser extension or app captures, uploads and generates the link while you are still talking.

The tool broke through during the remote-work years of 2020–2021. Atlassian bought Loom in October 2023 for roughly $975 million and slotted it alongside Jira and Confluence.
