Linus Åkesson
Swedish scener, known as lft, who makes demos on hardware nobody else took seriously.
Åkesson broke through in 2008 with Craft, a demo running on a lone ATmega88 microcontroller that generates the video signal and audio straight from the CPU. He has since built the Chipophone, an organ that sounds like an 8-bit sound chip, and written at length about the internals of the SID.
His best-known work is A Mind Is Born from Revision 2017: a 256-byte C64 demo with visuals and a complete song, which won its compo. It is the go-to example of what sizecoding can pull off. He documents his projects in detail on his website — unusual in a culture that otherwise tends to keep its cards close.
