Itai Dinur
Israeli cryptanalyst who, with Adi Shamir, showed that even a cipher treated as a black box leaks algebraic structure.
Dinur did his PhD at the Weizmann Institute under Shamir. Together they presented the cube attack in 2008, published at Eurocrypt 2009. It treats the cipher as an unknown polynomial, sums the output over carefully chosen subsets of inputs, and extracts simple linear equations in the key bits. It works best against stream ciphers with few rounds, and drew plenty of attention when aimed at Trivium.
With Orr Dunkelman, Nathan Keller and Shamir he developed the dissection technique in 2012, which attacks multiple encryption using less memory than classic meet-in-the-middle attacks. He is a professor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
