A permissively licensed C++ framework for audio plugins — the small alternative to JUCE, with one foot in the browser.

It descends from iPlug, part of Cockos' open-source WDL library that grew up around REAPER in the 2000s. Oli Larkin maintained his own fork for years, and around 2018 he and Alex Harker rewrote it as iPlug2. You write your DSP and UI once and build VST, Audio Unit, AAX, CLAP and standalone apps from the same source.

Two things set it apart from JUCE. The licence is a permissive zlib-style one, so closed-source commercial plugins owe nobody a fee. And it can compile to WebAssembly as Web Audio Modules, so the same effect runs on a web page. The community is much smaller, which shows in the documentation.
