Israeli fabless company making power-thrifty AI accelerators for devices in the field rather than the data center.

Founded in 2017 in Tel Aviv by Orr Danon and Hadar Zeitlin, both veterans of the military's technology units. The pitch was running deep learning straight inside cameras, cars and industrial sensors, where there is neither the bandwidth nor the power budget to ship everything to the cloud. Its flagship Hailo-8 delivers roughly 26 TOPS at a few watts; the later Hailo-10 targets generative AI at the edge.

The company competes with Google's Edge TPU and Nvidia's Jetson rather than data-center GPUs, and usually sells as a drop-in module that other manufacturers build in. Winning at the edge is less about peak speed than about watts: the chip has to fit inside a fanless security camera.
