Felix Domke

Security På svenska → Updated: 2026-10-18

German hardware hacker who has broken into game consoles and, less predictably, a diesel car's engine controller.

Felix Domke, better known as tmbinc, was one of the driving forces behind cracking the Xbox 360's security model, presenting the analysis with Michael Steil at the Chaos Communication Congress in 2007. He was also part of Team Twiizers, the group that opened the Nintendo Wii to homebrew software.

His most widely noticed work came in 2015, when he and Daniel Lange explained at 32C3 how the defeat device in Volkswagen's engine control software actually worked. Domke had bought a Sharan, dumped the ECU firmware and traced the code that recognised the test cycle – a rare case of a console hacker's toolkit moving both environmental policy and share prices.
