Achronix

Hardware På svenska → Updated: 2026-10-23

An independent FPGA maker that sells both finished chips and embeddable programmable logic as IP.

Achronix (San Jose, 2004) is one of the few remaining independent FPGA houses after Intel bought Altera and AMD bought Xilinx. The name nods to the company's early asynchronous logic, but today's Speedster parts are ordinary synchronous FPGAs made at TSMC and aimed at networking and AI.

Speedcore is the same logic sold as eFPGA IP to drop into someone else's system-on-chip. A niche long dominated by two giants has thus kept a small but stubborn third player.
